One of the top priorities of the Department of Food & Public Distribution, Government of India, is to implement the One Nation One (ONORC) plan to provide all eligible ration card holders/beneficiaries covered by NFSA with an option to access their entitlements from anywhere in the country.

States that Implemented – One Nation one Ration Card System in India

A total of nine states have completed the One Nation One Ration Card System implementation process. The PDS reforms have been successfully completed in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Ration Card

Kerala,  Telangana, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh. On completion of the reforms, additional borrowing permission of 23 thousand 523 crore rupees was issued to these states. Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Finance, said the One Nation One Ration System is a critical reform that is particularly needed to benefit our migrant workers. She said it is heartening to see states move rapidly to enforce this.

The system will ensure that beneficiaries, in particular migrant workers and their families, receive rations throughout the country from any Fair Price Shop.
